A technical college in Papua New Guinea (PNG) is the proud recipient of a Heidelberg Printing and Graphics Pre-Press Machine courtesy of the Australian Government, The National reports.

The printing press was installed at the Port Moresby Technical College (PMTC) and will enable students in printing and graphics with considerable training. The machine is worth K900, 000.

Australian High Commissioner to PNG, Bruce Davis, said the launch was symbolic of the how the country was facing the hardships of securing social and economic progress.

Progress is coming from having the right infrastructure, the right standard of education and graduates with the right skill levels.

Davis also said progress came from collaboration with like-minded institutions.

The press machine will enable the college to provide higher quality learning including Certificate III and Advanced Diploma.
