UOG welcomes new society president

The University of Goroka Political Science Society hosted a hand-over take-over program last Friday at the Unigor Restaurant in the Eastern Highlands province.

The outgoing society’s president, Samuel Aiye said the society is keen to carry on its obligated duty since its establishment in 2017.

He said the society has progressed despite challenges faced and it continues to meet its vision, mission and goals each year.

He handed over the leadership to the incoming president of the society, Gabriel Bari.

The program was witnessed by Vice Chancellor of University of Goroka, Dr Teng Waninga.

Dr Waninga was accompanied by Dr Stephen Potek, pro-vice chancellor of the university, policy and planning.

He said the university’s top management team is there for students and they will continue to support the students and address students’ common interests.

He said his council members will support the society to carry out its community works.

TMT is here to groom and mentor young future leaders of this country.

He commended the society for their voluntary contribution in national building and he pledged to work closely with the new society president, Mr Bari, and farewelled Mr Aiye.
