UPNG Reviews Research Targets

THE University of Papua New Guinea is reviewing its research activities in an attempt to redevelop a research culture.

The move was in line with the government’s call for increased research activity to drive its visions for development throughout the country.

A two-day workshop was held last week with the Office of Higher Education, various key government partners, the University of Utah and five UPNG schools to formulate a resolution to create a clearer pathway for research.

The partners agreed to develop and foster a thriving culture of intellectual inquiry in the staff and students to address issues and find solution to problems of government, industry and community, nationally, regionally and globally.
