It’s amazing how training can now be conducted with the trainer and the trainees not physically present together in the same room, and it is happening at Telikom Papua New Guinea (PNG).
A training program was conducted recently for Telikom PNG’s staff in Lae with the in – house trainer in Port Moresby via the company’s video conferencing service.
Video conferencing is a state-of-the-art product that has enabled people to interact on real time despite the physical distances between them.
With this service clients can interact with others in other parts of the country where the facilities are available and also with those overseas.
One of the first international interaction through the use of these facilities was the recent 31st meeting of the Asia Pacific Network Information Center in Honk Kong where representatives from various ISPs in the country congregated at Telikom PNG’s downtown’s video conferencing room to interact with those in Hong Kong.
Business houses and other government statutory bodies have used the facilities with astounding results.
Organizations and groups with interest in using the facilities should contact a Corporate Sales Representative on telephone 302 5555 or 302 5511.
Interests can also be emailed to sales@telinet.com.pg.

Hi,
I am impressed with the latest development on teleconferencing in the country.
I personally think, it is a way forward in improving people to people connectivity. With the current challenges of delivering basic health services in the country I strongly feel this will improve providing doctor to patients contact even thousands of kilometers away.
By the way what is the overall cost of such a set up and its ongoing maintenance in Papua New Guinea?
Hear from you soon.
