Latter Day Saints Charities national country director Rob Snow says church program help youths to become more honest, tolerant and caring members of the community.
Snow said about 500 students throughout Papua New Guinea between the ages of 14 and 18 were enrolled in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints seminary and institute of religious program.
He said this year 21 students graduated in Port Moresby, while 39 graduated throughout the country.
Students who complete four years of religious study received a graduation certificate and those successfully completing each year of study received a certificate of achievement.
He said the religious education program was to help the youth understand and rely on the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Snow said the program did that by developing their knowledge of the Scriptures and helping students to become more Christ-like in the way that they thought and acted.
He said most students attending the seminars had expressed satisfaction, saying the program were uplifting and energizing.
Snow said the program reached 35,000 youths in different countries around the world.
It had been in place for over 60 years with positive results showing former graduates leading better lives.
