A rural school in the Bulolo District of Morobe Province has received a fitting gift to mark the new 2012 school year, thanks to the Hidden Valley mine.

The Sambio Primary School is now the owner of two new teachershouses, funded by Morobe Mining’s Hidden Valley Joint Venture (HVJV) under its Community and Regional Development Plan.

The plan is aligned with the Bulolo District and provincial plans.

The opening of the two new highset teachers’ houses recently brings to two the total number of houses funded by HVJV to the tune of K364, 457.00 in 2011.

The other recipient of a similiar infrastructure is the Bulolo Technical Vocational School.

HVJV’s Community and Regional Development Manager, Benjamin Kamaya said that projects such as teachers’ houses and classrooms are crucial to the provision of quality education.

It is to that end, Mr Kamaya said, that HVJV is committed to supporting government plans for such infrastructure developments for communities in the footprint of its operations in the Bulolo District.

“Projects such as the teachers houses are implemented in partnership with the district authorities and according to government plans,” Mr Kamaya said.

He also thanked the Sambio Primary School Board of Management, the contractors involved in the construction and the community for their support in ensuring the teachers’ houses were completed.

At the same time, Bulolo District Administrator, Tae Guambelek is encouraging all stakeholders including parents, the school authority and HVJV to continue to work in partnership to achieve many more positive developments.
