
Prime Minister Peter O’Neil has stated that one of the country’s oldest national high schools, Kerevat National High, will remain open and its administration will be investigated.
According Malum Nalu’s blog, the PM said “closure is not an option” and that the government will not deny students the opportunity for higher school education. He has directed Education Minister, Theo Zurenuoc to keep the school open and restore it to its former glory once a proper investigation has been conducted into mismanagement and maladministration allegations by the school management.
He has also instructed that a new principal be appointed and the existing board be suspended and an interim be established so that investigations can be underway.
