Allegations of bribery and misconduct have been raised against a senior staff of the Balob Teachers’ College in Lae by frustrated students. Up to 30 students fronted the Lae Central Police Station and lodge a complaint against the senior staff.
According to the report, the students alleged that they paid monies to the staff but their names were not on the new intake list for this year.
The acting Lae Police Station Commander, Fred Kaiwa, said the allegations had serious implications and would warrant prosecution by the fraud division. The matter has been forwarded to the Fraud Squad. The staff mentioned is yet to clear the allegations.
