The Assistant Secretary (standard and guidance) Peter Kants urged all inspectors throughout the country to visit schools and make sure that all teachers resume their duties starting yesterday.
Mr Kants directed that the inspectors get out to the schools and ensure that teachers resume duty on time and prepare themselves to start the 2012 academic year.

Mr Kants said that the reports from the inspectors is very important and will determine the punctuality and environment of the school.
“School inspectors must visit all classrooms, check teaching programs, records and assessment practices, check meeting minutes from Board of governors/Board of management, staff, executives or School Representative Council and check roll books, teacher attendance records, examine school policies that include teacher appraisal, behavior management, HIV-AIDS, boarding, mess, dormitories etc and gender equality.
Mr Kants further said that the inspectors must observe the following during their tour in the schools.
“You must observe and check the facilities, library or resource areas, student work and the teaching practice that teaching resources are available and utilized. You must also check that the learning, hygiene, sanitation, security and recreational environment and report problem areas ”, he said.
Mr Kants said the inspectors must not give excuses for not attending because they have been provided transport on land and sea to travel to the schools.
He confirmed that inspectors from Western Highlands Province were ready to move to schools for visitation and hoped others provinces are doing the same.
