An official send off for the 3rd cohorts of the TVETSS program will take place a 12 noon today at the Holiday Inn in Port Moresby.
Prime Minister Peter O’Neil has been invited as the key note speaker with other speakers being the acting Director General of the Office of Higher Education (OHE), Dr. William Tagis, the Minister for Higher Education, Research, Science & Technology (HERST), Honourable David Arore, and the Australian High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea (PNG), His Excellency Ian Kemish.
A total of 190 students will go down to Australia to study in various TAFE institutions in heavy trade skills. 90 of these students; 17 female and 73 males will study at the Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE in Cairns while the remaining 14 females and 86 males will study at the Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE in Townsville.
TVETSS program is funded by the government under the MTDS PIP through the Department of National Planning and implemented through the OHE.
