Dr. Albert Schram Reinstated as Unitech Vice-Chancellor

Dr. Albert Schram has been reinstated as the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the University of Technology (Unitech) by the university council.

The decision comes after students had vigorously protested the initial decision last week. Dr. Schram addressed the students yesterday to inform them of his reinstatement, according to The National. The students have since welcomed the decision.

Calls for Investigation

During their protests, students also called for an investigation into the administration accounts. The Office of Higher Education is now preparing to establish a committee to investigate the allegations raised by the students.

Registrar Resigns Amidst Political Call

In other campus news, Dr. Schram advised the students that Registrar Allan Sako tendered his resignation last Friday.

This follows a call from the Minister for Higher Education, Research, Science & Technology, Hon. David Arore, for any staff member intending to contest the general elections to immediately resign. Sources within the administration suggest this call was directed at both Sako and Chancellor Philip Stagg.
