School certificates ready

ALL 2011 Grades 8, 10 and 12 school certificates have finally been sent to each province for distribution to various schools, acting secretary for education, Luke Taita said.

“The Measurement Services Branch (MSB) has already contacted the provincial education advisers (PEA), provincial examination supervisors and senior standards officers to check their local airports to pick the certificates and distribute them to the schools,” Taita said.

He said the certificates would be signed by the principals before they could be sent to the certificate holders.

Former students who have left school and are away from the schools are asked to contact their former schools and give their forwarding addresses for the certificates to be sent to them.

Taita said school principals in the National Capital District (NCD) and Central were asked to collect the Grade 10 and 12 certificates from the MSB of the Curriculum Development and Assessment Division, which was responsible for examinations and certification.

“The PEA of Central and the director of NCD Education Services are asked to collect blank Grade 8 certificates from MSB if they have not collected them,” he said.

Grade 8 students who attended NCD and Central schools in 2011 should collect their certificates from the NCD Education Division located at the Mutual Rumana, Waigani and Central Provincial Division of Education at Konedobu.
