The Papua New Guinea Office of Higher Education (OHE) is calling for project proposals into the following areas:
- Agricultural Research/ Fisheries;
- Biological Research;
- Chemistry;
- Infrastructure Research;
- Environment/ Climate Change;
- Adaptation/ Appropriate Technology;
- Manufacturing/ Downstream Processing.
- Medicine and Health Science;
- Earth Science;
- Sociology Research for Development;
- Information & Communication Technology;
- Physics, and;
- Mathematics

According to their website, K0.5 million is available to fund research and development projects under the Science and Technology Initiative Research and Development Grant.
