Raminai responds to Czuba’s statement

Wesley Raminai, Minister for Higher Education and Sports

The Minister for Higher Education and Sport, Wesley Raminai, has raised concern regarding the manner in which the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (DHERST) secretary has come out to the media discussing confidential departmental matters, Post Courier reports.

As a portfolio minister I have the responsibility to protect the interest and integrity of department and ministry.

This is what prompted me to pursue a series of actions when I was appointed as DHERST minister.

– Mr Wesley Raminai, Minister for Higher Education and Sports

Raminai said part of good governance was not to allow a departmental head whose integrity is being questioned to continue to perform their respective duties. He added that under his leadership, he will not condone and tolerate corruption in the department and other institutions under his ministry.

Raminai also added that Czuba’s recent media statement under the headline “Fr Czuba reports minister for unethical conduct” is contradictory to ethical and professionalism and unbecoming of a member of the clergy.
