A secondary school teacher in East Sepik has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 19 year old grade 7 student, The National reports, at Kep village in the Turubu LLG.
The 26 year old teacher allegedly suspected that the student was having an affair with his wife and attacked the victim with a piece of wood on April 10. The public intervened and brought the victim to the Wewak General Hospital where he was treated and discharged.
However, the victim complained of dizziness and body aches when he returned home and was rushed to the hospital on April 14 but died in the emergency ward.
The teacher was charged in the Wewak District Court.
