Madang without a high school inspector

Madang has been without a high school and secondary school inspector for over a year, says acting education director John Ura.

Ura said the vacancy arose after the resignation of Elizah Kevin to contest the General Election 2022 (GE22) in the middle of last year.

In the absence of school inspectors, the head teachers and school boards of management had been reporting directly to the district education managers.

We need an inspector for high and secondary schools and are waiting for the education department to appoint one for the province.

So far, we have not had any issues with high and secondary schools or any concerns over teacher shortage in the province.

Ura said the six districts had two primary school inspectors each, except for Sumkar which had only one.
