A copra farmer in East New Britain (ENB) has been working hard and saving money for his daughter’s education while awaiting her examination results, according to The National.
Anton Katkat, a farmer from Karawara on the Duke of York Islands in ENB, has been busy harvesting and processing copra for his daughter’s post secondary education.
Katkat said copra was the main source of income on the island and the current drought season was timely as it helped with processing and production.
He said although the examination results are not available yet, he is preparing so he does not need seek assistance from leaders or relatives.
Mr Katkat’s daughter is a grade 12 student at George Brown Secondary School.
