Want to make a difference in PNG and become a leader in your field?

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • be a citizen of PNG and reside in PNG
  • have at least two years work experience in their sector
  • work in one of the following priority sectors:
    • agriculture
    • health
    • law and justice
    • education
    • governance
    • transport and infrastructure
  • be committed to returning to PNG and contributing to PNG’s development
  • be applying for a progressive qualification or academic level (e.g. higher level than their current qualification)
  • high English proficiency
  • not hold conviction of criminal activities

Through the Australian Government’s Australia Awards Scholarships, your career will benefit from new knowledge, leadership skills and links you create through your global alumni network.

You may register your expression of interest in an Intake 2024 scholarship by providing the following information via email: scholarships@australiaawardspng.org on or before 1 February 2023:

  • Name
  • Highest educational attainment
  • Proposed study area and level of study in Australia
  • Current employer and employment status (e.g. permanent, contractual)
  • Employment location

A member of the scholarships team will contact you regarding your interest. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you will be invited for an information session and individual consultation to be scheduled from February to March 2023. Registration is FREE.

Public Category

If you are a public servant, please check with your human resource manager or SD&T officer if you are listed on your organization’s Learning and Development Plan and therefore eligible to be nominated for overseas training. If you have further questions regarding these requirements, please contact the Department of Personnel Management on 3276 382/358 before registering your interest. Public servants are not allowed to apply under the open category.

Australia Awards PNG does not work through any education agents.

After that I joined mineral exploration company.after that went to University of Goroka and completed Post graduate diploma in education program and now I am currently teaching.
