A K460,000 school fee subsidy was paid this week to more than 100 plus students attending three higher education institutions in Goroka, Eastern Highlands province.
Member for Lufa and Minister for Environment, Conservation and Climate Change Simon Kilepa said education remains his key priority and, in his time, wants to see Lufa produce elites who will go on to serve the nation.
He said this when presenting cheques to the University of Goroka, the Goroka Nursing College and the Goroka Technical College.
My aim is to support our parents.
Mr Kilepa
A total of K2 million has been budgeted for the exercise, a 50-50 partnership from the district and provincial government.

The biggest support went to 88 Lufa students attending the University of Goroka with each student receiving K4000 and totaling K352,000.
Mr Kilepa said as long as he is in office, the support will continue.
The school fee assistance program will continue to Lufa students in Lae and move on to Madang.
