Apprenticeship Training

OTML has been training apprentices into qualified and competent trades-persons in respective trades since 1982. The four (4) year program exposes trainees to cutting edge technology and best practices.

OTML is once again offering Apprenticeship Training in the following Trade Categories for 2024:

  • Electrical and Auto Electrical
  • Cabinet Making & Joinery
  • Carpentry & Construction
  • Heavy Equipment Fitting
  • Instrumentation
  • Maintenance Fitting & Machining
  • Metal Fabrication & Welding
  • Plumbing
  • Refrigeration Mechanic & Air conditioning

Expression of interest are invited from single young men and women between the ages of eighteen (18) and twenty-six (26), who are currently in their final year and enrolled at a Technical Institution in 2023. OTML is interested in students undertaking NC3, TTC or Diploma programs with high distinctions in any of the mentioned core subjects.

Applications MUST include a fully CV, copies of Grade 12 and NC3 certficates. Current NC3, TTC2 and Diploma students must provide approved statements of results for Year 1, and Term 2 of Year 2, of their respective trade and 2 valid references.

  1. I currently completed grade 12 this year and have NC 1 certification and will be getting my NC 2 this year. Is it possible to join OTML apprenticeship training program 2024 .

  2. I’m a currently a last year student at Goroka technical College taking up TTC 2023. From the above requirements, we’ll be needing our TTC certificate but our graduation is until next year 2024. Is still OK if I apply with a reference from the school?

  4. Am really agreed with the qualities highlighted above. So am really interested to do my apprenticeship program with your company. Currently am taking Automotive Electrical at Goroka Technical College (TTC)year 2. Right now am waiting for my references from my class teacher and my H.O.D.
    My question is, if our graduation is postponed to next year, do I eligible to apply without my certificate?

  7. I have completed my NC 1 & 2 in carpentry and construction since 2019 at Bougainville Technical College and have a work experience four (4) years. Am I eligible to do my apprenticeship training in 2024.

  8. I David Taralu undertaking Diploma in Electronics this year 2023 and was completing NC3 last year 2022 at Port Moresby Technical College. I would like to kindly let you know that my official transcript for NC4 & NC5 plus Diploma Certificate will not be available until graduation on March next year 2024. In regards, I am very interested to apply for the apprenticeship program outline inrelation to trades.
