Exciting Scholarships Opportunity for Young Women!
The National Information and Communications Technology Authority (NICTA) is an independent regulatory authority established through the NICTA Act 2009. NICTA is the primary regulator of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry in Papua New Guinea (PNG) with a specific focus on telecommunications, radio-communications and broadcasting.
In accordance with the International Telecommunications Union’s (ITU) objective to increase the number of women/girls to pursue STEM careers and in line with the National Government’s aspirations to empower women, NICTA launched the NICTA Girls in ICT Tertiary Scholarship Program in 2013. This is a fully funded scholarship for girls, which covers tuition fees, boarding and lodging, stationary allowances, fortnightly stipends and travel expenses for the duration of the program. Since the inception of the Scholarship, NICTA is proud to say that it has so far supported the education of 32 young women, taking up ICT related field of study of which 11 have since graduated are 16 are still in school.
Eligibility to Apply
Application forms was be obtained by request to the email below or inquire at the NICTA HQ (Punaha ICT Haus, Frangipani Street, Hohola) or from our regional offices in Lae, Kokopo and Mt Hagen. Take note, incomplete applications will not be considered.
