About the Research Article Writing School
The Research Article Writing School in Humanities, Social Sciences and Public Health (NRI-RAWS) is a 15-day writing school designed to produce research articles for publication in reputable scholarly journals. The retreat is intended for ABDs (All but Dissertation), newly graduated Doctoral Degree holders, Lecturers in Universities and Polytechnics preparing for promotion and academic researchers interested in enhancing their knowledge and understanding of research article writing techniques for reputable scholarly research journals. The research articles completed in NRI-RAWS will be featured in ISI/Web of Science, Scopus, ERA, EBSCO, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOA), Norwegian Register for Science Journals, South African DHET Journals, Australian Business Deans Council (ADBC) Journal Quality List in Papua New Guinea and other Pacific Islands Countries.
How will the program be presented?
Participants in the NRI-RAWS will receive cutting edge, intensive training on writing and formatting research articles for publication in reputable scholarly journals. The training will be provided by PNG NRI Senior Researchers, National Research Foundation Rated Scholars in the Republic of South Africa, and Guest Teachers from outside Papua New Guinea. Each student will be assigned a Writing Group (WG) during the writing school, which will be facilitated by a Senior Researcher. In these groups, students will receive intensive coaching to help them produce research manuscripts that are ready for publication.

- ABDs, Fresh PhD Graduates, University Lecturers, Polytechnic Lecturers, Policy Advisors and Researchers.
- Bureaucratic Administrators, Managers and Directors in Research Divisions, Young Professionals and Graduates aspiring to pursue further studies.
Minimum Qualification
Professionals with a Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field. Professionals with Diploma qualifications and extensive work experience in public policy and research centers related to Social Sciences, Humanities, Education, Law and Public Health would be considered.
Program Cost
The tuition fee is K4,050.00 payable by direct cash transfer only to the PNG National Research Institute prior to enrollment on November 27, 2024. The Institute has limited on-campus accommodation available at an additional cost for our out-of-Port Moresby candidates. Please contact the Institution for details.

- Applicants must submit a brief letter of interest to the writing school, along with their curriculum vitae and certified copies of their academic qualifications and transcripts by Friday, November 8, 2024. Please also include a non-refundable processing fee of K60.
