Non-School leavers participation on NOAS in 2024 for 2025 academic year selection

In addressing the GoPNG’s “leave no child behind” policy direction, the DHERST and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) have created pathway for non-school leavers (NSL) to apply for possible admission through the National Online Application System (NOAS). Commencing this year, non-school leavers are able to apply through NOAS for the new academic year selections.

Students with previous NOAS acccounts must contact DHERST on email noassupport@dherst.gov.pg to activate their accounts. NSL students portal access will commence on October 20th to December 9th, 2024, at 11:59pm. Students also matriculating (attending FODE) will be given access to apply. Students from the matriculation centres will recieve their credentials through the Center/DODL Center/Matriculation Center.

FREQUENCLY ASKED QUESTIONS FROM SCHOOL LEAVERS

  1. How will I access my NOAS student account?
The online address for accessing NOAS is https://apply.dherst.gov.pg. Only Grade 12 students who have obtained their credentials from their school, or a matriculation center will be able to login using the confidential details provided on the NOAS Invitation letter.
  2. I have entered my NOAS credentials but I still have not received the NOAS email confirmation link?
To ensure NOAS is secured and accessed only by the student, DHERST has introduced some additional security features including authentication email. All students are therefore required to use their personal email addresses. This must be the same email address entered in the NOAS MyData. When student first attempt logging into their NOAS account, a security email link is sent to the student’s email address. Follow instructions from the emailed link to complete setting up NOAS students MyData. The email link is timebound and expires after 4 hours. Ensure you fully activate your account before the link expires. Where the link expires, the student must repeat the instructions from the NOAS invitation letter to activate NOAS account. Students will not receive the security link if they use different email addressess. Thus use your own personal email address and ensure your email browser is updated.
  3. What should I do if I have missing subject combinations, misspelled names, or incorrect gender?
For current Grade 12 students, if your subject combinations are missing or there are errors with your Name, SLF number, or Gender, report this to your School Principal or Deputy Principal as soon as possible. The Principal will send the updated information to the Department of Education Measurement Services Division (MSD) for corrections – before MSD provides DHERST new data.
  4. What to do if I misplaced or forgot my password?
If you have misplaced the Invitation Letter containing your Username and Password, consult your School Principal to reissue the letter. If you have already reset your password using the NSR link but forgot it, click the “Forgot my Password” option to reset it.
  5. Why am I unable to see some programs and HEIS?
Your NOAS account will only show programs you are eligible to apply for, which is specific to your subject combination.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FROM NON-SCHOOL LEAVERS

  1. How do I apply online with NOAS as a Non-School Leaver?
