Dear students, the education you have received at DWU is not just about academic success, but about becoming people who can make a positive difference in society. Today, we affirm that your time with us has shaped you into individuals who will contribute meaningfully, both personally and in the broader community.

Professor Gibbs stated.

He further encouraged the students to approach their future with enthusiasm and resilience, noting the natural mix of emotions that come with transitioning to adulthood.

Some of you are excited to celebrate this milestone with your families and friends. Others may feel a mix of emotions, which is natural when embarking on a new journey. Remember, learning from life experience is a lifelong journey

he added.

Professor Gibbs underscored the ceremony’s deeper meaning, describing it as a declaration of readiness to tackle life’s challenges.

This ceremony is a declaration of your readiness to face life’s challenges with courage, wisdom, and purpose. The holistic education you’ve received at DWU equips you not only intellectually but also spiritually, with Christian values that will guide you as responsible citizens. The cross you will receive today symbolizes God’s guidance as you make wise and ethical decisions.

he explained.

The keynote speech was delivered by Reverend Kario Veneo of the Foursquare Gospel Lighthouse Church. Reverend Veneo commended Madang for organizing one of the country’s premier celebrations and motivated the students to act proactively for positive change.

We can do something today for a better tomorrow. Today, we are all standing on the threshold of building a better tomorrow

Rev. Veneo urged.

As a cornerstone of DWU’s academic calendar, the Missioning Celebration symbolizes the shift from student life to roles in professional and community service. This tradition reinforces the university’s commitment to holistic development, blending intellectual pursuits with spiritual and ethical guidance.
