Grade 12 Exams Conclude Peacefully in Simbu Province

Kundiawa, Simbu ProvinceThe Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) in Simbu Province has commended Grade 12 students for their exemplary behavior during the recent national examinations, which concluded without any reported incidents of public disorder.

Simbu Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Detective Superintendent Mazuc Rubiang, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of Grade 12 students at high and secondary schools across the province. Unlike a recent incident involving 18 Grade 10 students who were arrested and faced court for misbehavior following their exams, no such reports were received for the Grade 12 cohort.

PPC Rubiang attributed the peaceful conclusion of the exams to the students’ adherence to his calls for maintaining law and order.

I am pleased to see that my messages discouraging illegal activities and public disorder were well received.

He extended gratitude to the students, their parents, and community leaders for their support in fostering a peaceful environment.

As Grade 8 students began their examinations on Monday, October 20th, and continue through Friday, PPC Rubiang expressed optimism that they would emulate the positive behavior displayed by their Grade 12 counterparts.

Addressing the earlier incident involving Grade 10 students, Rubiang noted that those who pleaded not guilty have had their cases adjourned. He instructed the Officer in Charge of Prosecution to pursue court applications, emphasizing that convicted students could face severe consequences, including the forfeiture of their Grade 10 certificates to the state.

This tough stance is to ensure such behavior does not persist in the future.

PPC Rubiang also urged parents to take an active role in guiding their children to prevent involvement in disruptive activities, reinforcing the importance of community responsibility in maintaining peace.
