Investigations into reports on the leakage of the grade 10 examination question papers is underway, says the Education Minister Jimmy Uguro.
In two separate incidents; a man in Jiwaka has been apprehended by police for allegedly stealing grade 10 examination question booklets of (named) school locked in safety, while in another allegation a screenshot of attached electronic copies of examination questions was making rounds on Facebook yesterday.

Mr Uguro told the Post-Courier when asked to comment.
The WhatsApp photo posted on Facebook at around 1am yesterday was a picture of two attachments; question booklets for Agriculture exam and Business Studies exam.
Examinations for both subjects were administered yesterday as per the set schedule of the Education Department. Business studies exam was done in the first session from 8:30am-11:30am and then Agriculture subject in the second session from 12:30pm-3:30pm. Today will conclude with English subject in the morning session.
We are investigating this case and will deal with it accordingly

The poster on Facebook, also believed to be a teacher and posting from Western Highlands province, confirmed with Post-Courier the speculations to be true however, refused to make known her source or share the electronic copy to prove the screenshot.
Dr Kombra joined those who condemned the speculations surrounding the circulation of examination leakage on social media as it is disturbing to the student candidates siting their examinations this week.
Any matter of examinations security breach should be reported to the department.
Agree that such incidence of breach should not be published in the social media.
We are investigating the sources of the breach and will take appropriate actions

The suspect who allegedly stole grade 10 examination question papers from a high school in Jiwaka Province has been detained by police while awaiting investigation, a senior provincial education official confirms.
The suspect is not a student, he is from the nearby community of (the named school).

The secondary school inspector should provide a report before this week ends. Also, the head teacher of the school will be providing a separate report.
As I speak, a meeting is going on with the school inspector, the PEA and the representatives from the education department who came to look into this matter.

However, at this stage, the education department is yet to confirm the speculations surrounding examination leakages as investigations are underway.
Prior to the examinations, Dr Kombra strongly warned against cheating and said penalties will be seriously applied.
