The 2025 Education Subsidy Program for beneficiaries of the Gas Resource trustees is now open. The program provides tuition subsidies for students from gas-affected areas. The Mineral Resources Development Company (MRDC) oversees the program, ensuring a fair and transparent selection process in accordance with Board-approved policies and regulations.

- Vetting and Selection: 06 – 24 January 2025
- Announcement of Successful Candidates: 27 January 2025
- Payment of Tuition Fees to Institutions: 03 February 2025
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a direct beneficiary (as defined by project MOAs/Tribe of origin/ILG or Clan).
- Completed Grade 12 with a GPA of 2.5 or above for undergraduate programs.
- Submit a fully completed application form before the closing date.
- Answer short essay questions (assessed).
- Obtain endorsements from recognized endorsers.
- Be an existing student or accepted to a DHERST-sanctioned tertiary institution.
- Attach a copy of the letter, fee structure, and other supporting documents.
- For technical, trades and vocational training, have a minimum entry-level qualification.
Application Process
- Form Availability: Electronic (PDF) forms at www.mrdc.com.pg or email scholarships@mrdc.com.pg. Hard copies will be delivered to communities from November to January 2025.
- Submissions: Ensure all e-copies are in PDF format and clear. Incomplete forms are ineligible.
