This position provides hands-on experience in flight data management, aeronautical communication, and simulator support, making it an excellent entry point into the aviation industry in Papua New Guinea.
Position Overview
The Air Traffic Services Assistant (ATS Assistant) ensures that ICAO flight plans and aeronautical messages are processed accurately within the Air Traffic Management System. The position also provides simulator support and works closely with Air Traffic Controllers and Aeronautical Station Operators.

Key Responsibilities
As an ATS Assistant, you will:

Process and validate ICAO messages using the TopSky Flight Data Processor (FDP) in line with ICAO Doc 4444 (PANS ATM).

Correct and reprocess erroneous ICAO messages.

Ensure flight plans are accessible for Air Traffic Controllers and Aeronautical Station Operators.

Transmit aeronautical information to outstations and neighbouring ANSPs.

Provide simulator support as required.
Corporate & Safety Responsibilities

Uphold NSPL corporate values and professional standards.

Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines.

Contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of air navigation services.
Qualifications & Skills
To be eligible for this role, candidates should have:

Successful completion of the Air Traffic Control Trainee Program.

Basic skills in Microsoft Office applications.

Knowledge of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).

Familiarity with Civil Aviation Rules and requirements.

Ensure aeronautical data is accurate, reliable, and published on time.
