FEMALE students were reminded recently that the purpose of them being at University was to successfully complete their studies and graduate in their desired fields.
Deputy Registrar for Student Support Services, Jeptha Girinde, made the remarks during the re-branding of the logo of the UNITECH Females Students Association (FSA).
Mr Girinde said many times female students were carried away with extra-curricular activities and lost track of the purpose for being at university. He noted some students had I the past failed their programs
and were forced to withdraw from studies.
He said the University recognized and supported student groups as well as sports clubs as they contributed to the development of the whole person and students’ involvement in these groups provided opportunities for student to exercise managerial skills.
Mr Girinde assured the FSA members that his office was available to assist students in their activities, as long as they did the preparations and as long as the activity being pursued fell within the University’s aims.
He told the young women that the University was in the process of re-fitting the Female Amenities Centre with white goods.
