
Many schools in and around the country lack quality books to equip students for their learning and only few schools have their library filled with books.
Koki Primary is one school in the city that has a library with not enough books and this has not been helpful for most of its students and teachers.
Teachers are forced to look elsewhere to get sufficient reading materials from outside to teach their students.
This would now be the thing of the past. Thank you to the Telikom Foundation Inc. for donating most needed books to the school last Friday.
The school deputy headmaster, Philip Silovo thanked the foundation for its kind donation and said the books were a blessing for the school.
He said the books will benefit the 1900 plus students and teachers and told the school to take ownership and care for the books.
The boxes of books contained teachers teaching aid, reading books and encyclopedia suitable for the upper primary students.
Head girl of the school, Maggie Kabidu was proud of the donation of books and stressed that it was much needed for the students.
We are fortunate enough to receive such assistance from an organization.
We have lacked a lot of basic information when doing our research in our small library, because the books are old, and not suitable for our learning.
She encouraged the students to look after the books and especially the encyclopedias which are mostly for research work and assignments.
Telikom Foundation Inc. aims to enhance the education of young Papua New Guineans by donating learning materials to many schools as it can this year.
