2022 Non-School Leaver Application for UOG – Enga Campus (EC)

An opportunity exists for those NSL Students who may be interested in applying for studies at the University of Goroka – Enga Campus, Wabag, Enga Province next year 2022. There will be space for only 50 students.

UOG EC is a joint initiative of UOG and the Enga Provincial Government (EPG) to address the falling Education Standards in Schools throughout PNG by providing a 4 Year Bachelor Program in STEM Courses and in English (all Content) and an additional 5th Year Post Graduate Diploma (optional) in Secondary Teaching. The teachers have to have be well grounded and well equipped with the subject matter before being allowed to teach the next Generation.

This partnership started in 2020 with its first batch of 100 students. These pioneer intakes will be doing their 3rd year program in 2022.

Currently, UOG EC offers its Degree Program accredited to the University of Goroka in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (STEM) and English Major. After successful completion of their four (4) year content studies, students will graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree. An option will be given to the graduates to either graduate and seek employment to join the workforce in the industry or continue to do a 5th year Post Graduate Diploma in Secondary Teaching to teach at high/secondary schools.

UOG EC is very strict in its selection process. Applicants with criminal records, alcohol and cultist related issues etc, are NOT encouraged to apply.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

1. This notice is strictly for NSL applicants ONLY. Thus, all NSL applicants should apply directly to the University of Goroka (Enga Campus) on the address provided below.
   
2. The School Leaver Applicants (2021 year 12 students) will be selected by DHERST as part of your School Leaver Application towards the end of the year, so do not apply here.
   
3. Successful applicants will be expected to pay the Full School Fees as imposed by the UOG Council. No scholarship is available.
   
4. Applicants who meet a GPA of 2.4 and above are encouraged to apply. It is a strict requirement. Further, those with Diploma in other related Studies and Courses may be given an opportunity to pursue a Degree Program.

5. All UOG EC Academic programs and courses are accredited to UOG, hence Rules, Regulations, By Laws and Acts of UOG are applicable in here.

UOG EC is an exciting new school that has the full support of the Enga Provincial Government and National Government to develop and innovate many new ideas, including areas in technology and research. You are encouraged to be part of this exciting development paradigm shift in tertiary education.
