School forced to close after student’s death

A school in the National Capital District (NCD) has been forced to close by relatives of a student who died in a fight, The National reports.

According to the Gordon Police Station Commander, Inspector Robert Wane, the fight allegedly took place at the Evadahana Primary School at 9 Mile which resulted in serious injuries sustained by the victim.

It is believed that the boy received serious injuries during the fight at the school at 9-Mile.

The victim was rushed to the Port Moresby General Hospital (PMGH) but died which resulted in the the victim’s relatives, who reside at a settlement near the school, chasing everyone from the school and locking the gates.
