Erap Primary School lacks proper infrastructure

Erap Primary School, with more than 700 students in Huon Gulf District, Morobe province sadly lacks proper infrastructure.

The school is surrounded by the Trukai Industries farm situated along the Okuk Highway.

The school is currently the biggest in terms of population in the district. It is a level six primary school and is the oldest school in Wampar.

The school has 23 teaching staff, 732 students and its a four stream operating school.

The school was established in 1972.

School head teacher Herman Angregum who has been in the school for the last six years said previous head teachers and boards have been prioritizing the school’s funds on stationery and general operations.

He said the board and the administration have been prioritizing on stationery and general operations instead of looking at building infrastructures.

He said the school concentrates on academic activities than physical infrastructure of the school.

With lack of support and priority given to infrastructure development for teachers accommodation and learning facilities like classrooms, building infrastructure for the school is in a poor stage and seriously needs to be revised.

Teachers have to be accommodated properly so that they give there best to students.

Students have to be settle in good facilities to learn.
