A school in Morobe will still sit for the grade 12 national examination despite suffering damages from Sunday’s 7.6 magnitude earthquake, an official says.
Wawin National High School deputy principal Eric Kep said the quake had caused cracks in school buildings and some displacement of structures but would not stop the school’s grade 12s from sitting for the national examinations.
The examination is four weeks away and we will still have them.

Kep said the school administration had been preparing for the exams as these were important for students to advance to tertiary institutions.
Meanwhile, the school called on relevant authorities to assess the damage caused by the earthquake and advise them if students could still use the classrooms.
The school’s 10 classrooms, four laboratories, and dormitories had all been impacted by the earthquake.
