Remote teacher concerned with inflation

The sharp increase in the price of goods and services in the country is one of the growing issues that will affect our economy.

The concern was raised by Mr Supa Wai, a community school teacher in remote area of Kerowagi district of Chimbu Province.

Mr Supa felt victimized and is very disappointed with the recent increase in the prices of goods and services in the country.

He said government should strategize to raise the salaries of public servants so that they can be able to relieve the pressures on the cost of living today.

Common sense must prevail. We public servants are migrants from all around Papua New Guinea and we entirely depend on what we earn.

Mr Supa said if inflation continues, how will they continue to sustain their families for another two weeks.

He said income earned is not sufficient to meet their daily expenses in such an economic environment and time.

He appealed to the relevant government authorities to look into the problem promptly to ease the burden on the common people everywhere in the country.
