The University of the South Pacific (USP) has been ranked for the second year in a row on the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings after making it for the first time in the 2022 rankings. THE World University Rankings 2023 data, places USP in the band from 1001 to 1200.
USP Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Pal Ahluwalia, said these rankings validated the excellence of USP and the resilience of our people.
This is all the more remarkable given that the Times Higher Education is an independent body that judges and benchmarks us against global universities. We are delighted at the announcement of USP’s ranking once again in the 2023 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
I congratulate our academic and teaching staff, our students, alumni and member countries on this achievement. The improvement in our rankings is a testament to the calibre of our research endeavours and the dedication of the university’s academic staff, who put in endless hours to educate our students.
USP’s commitment to delivering a quality education and conducting innovative research is the foundation of our Strategic Plan, Shaping Pacific Futures. It is heartening to see that our staff and students are focused on realising our ambitions.
