Teachers’ ROD forms deadline set for March

THE deadline for all teachers’ resumption of duty forms is the end of March, says Teaching Service Commission (TSC) chairman Samson Wangihomie.

Wangihomie said all forms must be submitted before the end of next month.

If you do not fill in the resumption forms your salaries will be affected.

He said more than 70,000 teachers are expected to be on the payroll this year, with the number increasing by between 2,000 and 3,000 each year.

Wangihomie confirmed that TSC staff were still trying to carry out their work after being locked out of their FinCorp House offices late last year.

They are preparing to relocate to Vulupindi House in Waigani.

It’s going to take some time organizing and fixing the files before resuming our normal work.

Wangihomie

But he warned teachers who had not filled in the resumption of duty forms to do so quickly and not to waste time as classes had already started.

No excuses for teachers to hang around in town doing nothing.

He also stressed that the Government had already paid fees and no teacher should send students home for non-payment of any fees.

Education secretary Dr Uke Kombra said two managers from the two vocational centers in Port Moresby had been suspended from work for not complying with Government directives.

They are the vocational centers at Morata and Limana.

Education Minister Jimmy Uguro said he was yet to be briefed on the matter but the instructions not to charge students any fees were clear.

We have one Government, one policy and one system and everyone must comply with government directives.
