The University of South Pacific (USP) will join education and industry exhibitors at the 2026 National Capital District (NCD) Career Exhibition. The event is in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, this week.
The University’s participation reaffirms its commitment to helping Papua New Guinea’s next generation make informed decisions. It guides them toward higher education and future careers.
USP representatives will be available to answer questions about the University’s programmes, entry requirements, subject choices and how to apply. Students can also learn about different study options available across USP’s campuses and through flexible learning.
They will have the chance to explore careers linked to USP qualifications. Learners will also receive advice on choosing a programme that matches their interests and future goals.
Law student Rhys Woruba, from Turubu in East Sepik Province, said studying at USP has given him the knowledge and confidence to better serve his community.
University life can be demanding, but education should not be separated from life and community. Learn your skills, build connections, and apply what you know in ways that help others.
Throughout his studies, Woruba has continued to return home during semester breaks to support community projects, including installing solar lighting, wiring classrooms and contributing to road works in rural East Sepik.
Bachelor of Environmental Management student Jimaima Julai, from East New Britain province, credits USP with strengthening her passion for environmental conservation and community service. She hopes to use her education to create opportunities for young people while protecting Papua New Guinea’s natural environment.
At USP, I finally found a space that aligns with my dreams. We must also use our learning to lift our communities. Start small, teach one person, clean one beach, help one child, and the Pacific will rise with us.
