USP is also providing fee payment arrangements including discounts for students making upfront payments who are enrolling to study in Semester 1. These arrangements are for private students only.

As the new academic year began last week, the University campus was abuzz with new faces as students explored their surroundings and familiarised themselves with university facilities.

It was an exciting atmosphere at the Laucala campus as it saw students returning to the vibrant campus life and face-to-face learning after almost two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the orientation programme for the School of Accounting, Finance and Economics (SAFE), the Head of School, Dr Nacanieli Rika, assured students that they had made the right decisions to attend USP. He assured students that SAFE provided a welcoming and inclusive environment where they are respected and valued.

Diversity enriches the workplace and the classroom. When our staff and students feel safe and protected, they can better succeed.

Dr Rika

Head of School, School of Business and Management (SBM), Professor Gurmeet Singh, assured students that USP provides an exceptional environment for students to succeed.

He encouraged new students to make the most of their university life to make new friends and explore the subjects they would be studying.

I can assure you that you have made the right choice and must feel confident that you will make a difference for your family, society, and nation.

I invite you to take advantage of everything USP and SBM offer. Your First-Year Advisors, Peer Mentors, teaching assistants and course coordinators can’t wait to meet you and help you get started. I encourage you to go forth in a spirit of exploration and adventure. Try new things: choose challenging classes that expose you to new ideas and alternative ways of thinking.

Veronica Melitiana of Kiribati was overjoyed to be accepted into USP. She stated that studying at the Laucala Campus was a “dream come true” for her. She added she was pleased to see people of all races and cultures on campus, as it gave her a homely feeling.

When I came from my home country, I did not have much trouble because my friends were there to help me.

Students who have are yet to be enrolled are urged to submit their application until 1 April and take advantage of USP’s fee payment arrangements.
