Ningerum Primary School in North Fly District celebrated International Teachers Day on Friday.
The students commemorated the day and made the day a special one for their teachers.
Students brought gifts and cooked food for their teachers and celebrated in classes.
More than 500 students are enrolled at Ningerum Primary School with 19 teaching staff.
After the celebrations in classes were over, the teaching staff members gathered and did a cake cutting ceremony as the last part of the day’s activity.
Tom Hoey Primary School in Debepari Station, Middle Fly district, also celebrated International
Teachers Day which was organised by the student leaders.
Students in Tom Hoey primary presented gifts to their teachers and the teachers sang their college songs from the respective colleges they graduated from.
Highlights for the day were fun games such as three-legged race, blindfold, spoon and egg race and the musical chair.
The day’s celebration was witnessed by the Lake Murray-Nomad school inspector, Cyril Unam.
Meantime, the Ningerum LLG is looking forward to put on a combine appreciation party for the teachers teaching in Ningerum station from elementary, primary and high school on Saturday, October 15.
