
Bad weather has stopped schools in Manus and East New Britain (ENB) from beginning their academic year.
Manus education advisor Mr. Pomiran Kuyei stated that rough weather had slowed the travel of student and hence slowed down enrolment schedules. Many have been unable to travel due to the weather conditions. Â Heavy rains in East New Britain have also hampered student movement.
Meanwhile students of Malabunga Secondary School were unable to start classes due to water problems. According to reports, the school’s water pump is undergoing maintenance and students have been informed that classes will start on Monday (13 February).
