The NICTA Girls in ICT Tertiary Scholarship!

The National Information & Communications Technology Authority (NICTA) is here to make that dream a reality with out Girls in ICT Tertiary Scholarship Program.

Since 2013, NICTA has proudly supported talented girls and women across Papua New New Guinea to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). This program is about more than education; it’s about empowerment, breaking barriers, and creating opportunities for women in ICT.

So far, we’ve sponsored 36 remarkable young women – many of whom have graduated and are now shaping the future of ICT in PNG. This is your chance to join this inspiring community.

For 2025, NICTA is offering four (4) fully funded scholarships to exceptional female students, who have the ambition to thrive and make a difference.

What We Offer

We are committed to ensuring that you succeed, with a scholarship package that includes:

Full tuition fees
Accommodation and meals
Allowance for text books and stationary
Fortnightly stipend for living expenses
Travel costs covered throughout your studies

Who We’re Looking for

We are looking for passionate, driven and talented young women who:

Completed Grade 12 this year (School Leaver).
Achieved a “B” grade average or higher in a science major stream in the Higher School Certificate (HSC).
Have the right attitude, determination, and love for learning.
Are selected or accepted into a first degree program in one of the following fields at a NICTA-recognized tertiary institution in PNG:
- Electrical & Communications Engineering
- Computer Science
- Information Technology (IT)
- Or another ICT related course

- Emailing us at gictscholarship@nicta.gov.pg
- Visiting
  - NICTA HQ (Punaha ICT Haus, Frangipani Street, Hohola)
  - Regional offices in Lae, Kokopo or Mt Hagen.
Complete the form and attach all required documents. Please ensure your application is thorough, as incomplete submissions won’t be considered.
Submit you application by 4:00 PM, 31^st January 2025 using one of the following options:
