The Minister for Higher Education, Research, Science & Technology, Paru Aihi challenged Bougainville leaders to establish institutions of higher learning in the region.
The small gathering of leaders included Bougainville government president John Momis and Minister for Bougainville Affairs Fidelis Semoso.
Aihi said it was important for Bougainville to establish institutions to cater for its school leavers. He urged them to look beyond the already established high schools and institutions.
I ask you this, what’s life for Bougainville after Hutjena High School? What has the leadership got in mind for education in Bougainville.

 The challenge was issued during his visit with acting Prime Minister Sam Abal for the launching of the Kokopau to Arawa K20 million road project.
