Morobe Mining Joint Venture (MMJV) just completed a weeklong course in geology for fifteen of its non-geologist employees. The course was facilitated by Dr. Kaul Gena, a professor at the University of Technology (UOT), and covered general areas in the field.
The course which ran from the 23 to the 27 of January included heavy equipment operators, data administrators and field assistants.
According to the acting head of UOT’s Mining and Engineering Department Manau Saki, the country’s current mining boom makes such courses vital.
