Next year’s grade 11 selection results will be out next month, according to a senior official of the Department of Education.
Marking of the grade 10 examination papers has been completed and we are entering the marks which will take us about two to three weeks.
Measurement Service Division Assistant Secretary Packiam Arulappan told Post Courier yesterday.
The staff have been working day and night.
By the end of this month we should finish entering the data and beginning next month we should put out the results. The deadline is set for December 5. We will try our best to finish earlier. Once we confirm the results we then send them to the Grade 11 Selection Committee, the General Education Services. Once they get the marks, they upload the marks.
For the past two years selections have been done in their respective provinces.

He said more than 70, 000 grade 10s sat for the national examinations last month which lasted a week.
According to Mr Arulappan, less than half of these students would continue to grade 11 in the system schools.
Grade 11 spaces would be 30 – 32, 000
He said the only way to allow students to continue is to increase the number of secondary schools.
There are high schools becoming secondary schools and primary schools taking in onboard junior high schools.
