School hosts AI webinar conference

The School of Information Technology at the IBS University, outside Port Moresby in the National Capital District, hosted an International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering recently.

The International Al Webinar Conference highlighted important topics relating to Digital Revolution and Data Engineering at the present time.

The conference heard from guest speakers from within PNG, Australia, Hong Kong, Scotland and India who spoke to more than 450 participants from various technological industries and universities.

More than150 students at the IBS University were privileged to participate with other technological, industrial and international attendees at the virtual conference.

A webinar is a seminar that is hosted online where companies and individuals take the opportunity to deliver presentations to a virtual audience while at the same time, audiences can engage in discussions.

The conference was led by Telikom PNG Limited senior data scientist Ramesh Chinnaraj who also provided the keynote address and highlighted the importance of Al Webinar, Big Data, Machine Learning Models and Myths in Machine Learning.

Another speaker from India, Faritha Khan of Cognizant-India, went on to highlight the use of AI Webinar in the healthcare industry and data mining in the workplace.

The applications of AI Webinar in sectors including telecommunication, entertainment and media, defense, military and retail were thoroughly discussed by Suresh Veerasamy of TCS-Scotland.

Unseen data in the industry was another serious topic addressed by Nooruddin Mohammad Aslam of Zurich Insurance in Hong Kong.

Finally, the last speaker Subramaniyan Thangavel from Cognizant, Australia, went into depth of Digital Revolution of Data Engineering to end the two hours conference followed by question and answer session with the participants.
