Single mother dedicates degree to late father

Single mother Maryanne Kua yesterday dedicated her bachelor in business management and human resource management degree to her father who passed away three years ago.

I was supposed to graduate in 2019.

I did my final year in 2018. But since my dad passed away, I went back home. I stayed the whole year at home.

Last year I came and re-enrolled at the university.

I wish my dad is here with me.

I dedicate my degree to (him).

I know he is watching from Heaven and he is celebrating with me.

– Maryanne Kua

Kua, 35, from Kerowagi in Chimbu has two sons aged 11 and 12.

She already has a bachelor in education degree which she got in 2008 at the University of Goroka.
She taught for three years at the Kerowagi Secondary School.

In 2015, she enrolled at the University of PNG to pursue the business management and human resource management program.

She thanked her siblings for looking after her two sons while she was concentrating on her studies.

I sacrificed for my two sons and they sacrificed for me too.

Due to all the situations that I am going through, my kids are not here with me.

I wish my parents and my kids are here to celebrate my achievement. But I know they are happy.

She has already sent out job applications and is waiting for the responses.

She had started her education in Enga where her dad worked as a police officer.

She continued her secondary education in Chimbu.
