MP wants trade skills for students

Wau-Waria MP Marsh Narewec wants all the school leavers to acquire technical skills to empower them to secure employment.

We have to educate the young people and later send them to attend technical school to attain technical skills to help develop the new district.

Our young school leavers are not educated if they don’t attend further technical and commercial studies and acquire special skills.

I will work closely with the education officials to finalize the reports to have our vocational center to enable it to continue to educate our young school leavers to acquire special skills.

Mr Narewec told the senior district education officials at the week-long stakeholders meeting at Wau Rural local level government council chambers in Wau-Waria district last month.

The MP will also support the Grace Memorial Secondary School to improve on its quality of the grade 12 students leaving the school every year.

The education advisor, John Chipet informed the meeting that the vocational center is still current, however due to its closure all the teachers were deployed to other institutions in the province.

Our vocational center was forced to closed 20 years ago and the specialist technical trainers were posted to other institutions in the province.
