Huon Gulf District education manager Sam Geseng said this while addressing school managers for elementary, primary, high and vocational schools during collection of RODSS last week.

Mr Geseng said all teachers must fill in RODSS at their respective schools when resuming duties and not elsewhere.

He said school managers must know that they trust them to do the right thing and not to give RODSS to their teachers to fill when they are not in school.

We had issues last year where some teachers filled their RODSS in Lae and never resumed duties but are collecting their pay, so this year this will not happen again.

Due to locality, schools in Morobe Local Level Government are given two weeks to return the RODSS while for Wampar LLG, its only one week.

Mr Geseng

He said for schools in Salamaua inland, they were two weeks while for the coastal schools, its only one week so they expect all RODSS to be submitted within the time frame.

He also emphasised on school managers to be consistent with reports of government tuition fee subsidy acquittals received.

Submitting your acquittals on time will enable your school to have access to GTFS payment and following directive from the office of provincial education program advisor last year to produce acquittals and access funding is a good experience.

It helps you to be familiar on how acquittals are done so get your latest GTFS payment acquittal for 2021 done and acquittals should not be an excuse to start schools late.

Geseng

Mr Geseng informed school managers to be ready for a refresher financial management training to be conducted so school managers recently promoted can know how to get it done properly.
